I work on the parts of a product that only get noticed when they break.
Nine years of it: payments infrastructure, pipeline orchestration and more recently AI product work. I've worked most of the stack along the way. These days I lead a small team at Opiniion.
Where I fit
I like the mode where I'm leading a team and building the product alongside them. Close enough to it to notice when something is off, not so close that I'm the bottleneck.

Payments, rewards, and the AI features on top of them. I designed and launched the resident-outreach orchestration that now runs across 3,000+ properties, and took our AI visibility product from a fragile beta to a real launch serving 100+ customer locations. I lead the team and I am still on call when it breaks.

Senior Software Engineer
Part of the team that built RGPay: checkout, Stripe and Plaid, the ledger, reconciliation, webhooks, fraud. Claimed rewards doubled from $100K to over $200K in five months. I also co-built ARI, an LLM-agent engine that turns renter feedback into something property managers can act on, and designed the ETL pipeline that pulled the platform’s data processing into one place.

Software Engineer
Long client engagements, mostly The Zebra in Austin and LawTrades in New York. At The Zebra I migrated a seven-year-old Webpack React codebase to Next.js and co-built the shared component library. I also led a team of six on an internal product.
Outside the day job.
Building
Chatterfly Social Skills teaches conversation skills through role-play and feedback. I built it with a behavior analyst; it's in 177 countries now. Northword helps people prepare for the CELPIP exam on the way to permanent residency or citizenship in Canada. Both started as weekend projects that got out of hand.
Teaching
I spent four years of evenings on Codementor pairing with people learning JavaScript, React, PHP, and Node, 300+ of them by the end. Explaining a thing badly to someone who needs it is the fastest way to find out you only half understood it. I still volunteer with Teencode Africa.
